In our Baby Room (0 – 2 years of age) we have highly experienced staff whose priority is to follow the home routine of each baby as closely as possible. We have a spacious play area and provide a variety of stimulating activities in a caring and friendly environment in order to promote your baby’s all round development. Babies will participate in a range of play such as painting, heuristic play and sensory experience, all of which help develop and enhance their emerging skills. We have unique planning boards displayed in the room for you to view and see what activities and development your child will be participating in that month.
We are an all-inclusive nursery and so we provide nappies and milk. As a breast feeding friendly nursery we also support mothers returning to work who still wish to breast feed. Staff are trained in the storage and use of breast milk and we welcome you visiting to feed during the day where possible and have a quiet parent’s room suitable for breast feeding.
Here at Holyrood we encourage your child to advance to the Toddler Room when they are around 2 years of age. This would take place after discussions with yourself.
Our Toddler Room provides a structured day with a great choice of learning opportunities including arts and crafts, construction activities, table top games and much more. We have two large rooms spread across the 1st floor of our nursery building where our children explore in the continuous provision in spacious surroundings. We also introduce early numeracy, literacy skills and activities designed to develop your child’s communication skills. All activities and next steps for your child will be displayed on our unique planning boards so you can monitor the activities and development of your child throughout the month.
Each day children also spend time outside in our play area or at the local park. Your child’s day is recorded for you to take home so you will know what they have been learning at Holyrood.
Holyrood is recognised as a Pre-School center by the Education Department. In the Pre-School Room children will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. We pride ourselves on ensuring that children have a smooth transition to school when they leave our nursery and that they do so confidently, independently, whilst taking with them the enjoyment of learning and a pride in their achievements.
At the end of each year our children take part in a Graduation Ceremony where they are presented with their leaving certificates and there is always a special party to mark the end of their time at Holyrood!
We love to get outside at Holyrood Bury! We have a large outdoor play area which provides children with opportunities to get fresh air and have fun in a safe and secure environment. Our outdoor area provides a large array of activities for our children to enjoy, including physical play, den building, digging, and investigating the elements. Our outdoor area includes fabulous climbing equipment and a planting area where our children love to grow their own flowers and vegetables. We also have a decked area great for our bikes and construction activities.
